Food blogger James T. Kirk Jr. has made a batch of chocolate-flavored drinks using the “Gimmes Chocolate” brand of chocolate bars.
Kirk has been making these “Gimerme Chocolate” drinks for years, but this is the first time he’s made them with chocolate chips instead of cocoa powder.
Kirk says he was inspired by the popular cereal “Gimmel” brand, but he wanted to make something unique.
The result is an ode to the iconic candy bar and chocolate bar with a twist: the chocolate bars are coated in chocolate and coated in cocoa powder to make a drink that’s both sweet and salty, while the chocolate chips provide a smooth texture that doesn’t contain much sugar.

Kirk is also using coconut oil instead of butter in the chocolate sauce.
You can make these drinks yourself, but you’ll need a little time to make the right consistency.
Kirk recommends using a chocolate-based milk like Coconut Orgeat or Gourmet.
(If you don’t have coconut oil, you can use a can of coconut milk or a homemade one.)
For the chocolate-chocolate sauce, Kirk says, you’ll want to whisk together the coconut milk, coconut water, cocoa powder, cocoa butter, and vanilla extract.
You’ll also need 1 cup of shredded coconut.
For the ice cream, you want to combine 1/4 cup of the melted chocolate and the remaining 1 cup ice cream with a mixer until smooth.
You want the ice Cream to be thick enough to spread on the bottom of the glass, but not so thick that it smears the top of the drink.
You could also make this ice cream at home by making ice cream cones or pour a bit of the mixture into a glass.
If you prefer a slightly sweeter ice cream drink, try a vanilla ice cream.
