In June, the owner of the yacht was arrested on suspicion of having sexually assaulted a woman.
Now, the yacht’s owner is facing a $45,000 fine after being charged with raping a woman in an Atlantic offshore fisherry.
The woman in question, who lives on the yacht, told the AP that on March 28, 2016, the man took her into his room, sexually assaulted her, and raped her in his hotel room the next day.
She said she was so traumatized by the attack that she spent the next several days in bed crying and afraid of waking up alone.
The suspect is accused of having sex with the woman on the second day of the attack, which she said occurred when she was still drunk.
She said she had never been sexually assaulted before.
The AP’s Lauren McCaskill contributed to this report.
