It is widely accepted that fish stocks are declining and it is clear that many of the fish species in the world’s oceans are in trouble.
But a new study has suggested that the loss of some fish stocks is being accelerated by human activities.
RTE has produced an interactive map of the world, showing which species are currently in decline, and what can be done to slow or reverse their decline.
The map shows the impact of human activities on the health and abundance of the species being targeted.
The map also highlights the importance of the provision of food, water, and social services to sustain these species.RTE is working to help the world reach its sustainable food production goals.
This is supported by a number of organisations including the World Wildlife Fund, Food & Agriculture Organization, International Fund for Animal Welfare, and WWF.
